Health Care

Healthcare Overview

We value the healthcare sector in the UK. British citizens have the choice between the incredible NHS or can opt for private healthcare. There are a variety of business types that operate within this sector, they include hospitals, clinics, labs, psychiatric facilities and nursing homes.  The healthcare sector is hugely significant to us, we have huge respect for people working in this industry. Healthcare professionals have to be focused on the safety and health of their patient’s and deserve to feel as secure as possible whilst practising.

We can help protect Hospitals, care homes, server/archive rooms & kitchens.

Hospitals

Hospitals often use sophisticated and expensive equipment, such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) & X-ray machines. These are often used to provide diagnostic services that are critical to a hospital’s mission.

Both machines pose a unique fire protection challenge for a hospital, not only because the tremendous energy used can be a hazard. There are many variables to consider in a complex hospital environment, we would install either an Inert, synthetic, or aerosol-based system.

Inert Gas

Inert gas systems extinguish a fire by lowering Oxygen levels (which are typically around the 21% mark) within a protected area, but within ‘safe for life support’ limitations.

Synthetic Gas

These agents are commonly referred to as ‘Clean Agents’ as they leave no residue or oily deposits, they can be removed by ventilation of the affected space and are non-conductive. This makes them highly desirable in IT rooms and precious document vaults.

Aerosol systems
Aerosol suppression systems have been around for many years, but many people are not aware of their market presence. These systems are ‘Green’ being non-toxic and contain no CFCs or HFCs.

Care Homes

Care homes also require special consideration due to factors such as older people, people with learning disabilities, people with mental health problems, people with physical and sensory impairment.

Water Mist

A water mist system is a fire protection system which utilises water, high pressure and specialized sprinkler spray heads to form very fine water droplets, ranging from 50 to 300µm depending on the system design.

Server Rooms & Archive rooms

Traditional data stored in filing cabinets would be destroyed too, however unlike digital data paper records would act as a fuel for the fire. In both of these instances we would install and supply either an inert or synthetic system. As these are not water based, they would ensure that the data (digital/traditional) would not be destroyed in the fire suppression process.

Inert gas systems extinguish a fire by lowering Oxygen levels (which are typically around the 21% mark) within a protected area, but within ‘safe for life support’ limitations.
