What is your role within Cannon Fire Protection?

My role within Cannon is Design Project Manager/jack of all trades (master of none!) I originally started out as a trainee estimator back in 2013 when I was 19 years old, I then progressed to design estimator, sales and design consultant and now design project manager so now I oversee two design estimators and work on gas suppression installs from start to finish, this involves site surveys, quoting, designing and closing down.

What do you do for our Cannon Fire Protection clients?

Due to the years I’ve been with Cannon I like to think I’ve built long lasting relationships with customers which puts trust into Cannon, should they need any technical advice or require a helping hand on site I can be there to support them and help them win their projects, which in turn helps Cannon.

What has been your proudest achievement with Cannon Fire Protection so far?

My proudest achievement with Cannon, I think has to be coming this far, from starting at Cannon as a teenager, I still wasn’t sure where I wanted my career to go but having stuck it out I’m now proud of where I am today.

Have you noticed any challenges arising due to Covid-19?

Most definitely, part of my job involves attending site to gather accurate information required due to the nature of the systems we provide. This has been a tricky hurdle to overcome but having that trust with our clients we managed to overcome this and still provide an exceptional service. There have been much more challenges which I’m sure most people have experienced but this is the one that has stood out to me.

What does 2022 have in store for you and your team?

I’m going to challenge myself in areas I’ve not delved into before and step out of my normal comfort zone to better myself for the company. Over the past couple of years it’s been hard to do this due to Covid-19 and I would like to bring the design estimators along with me and increase their knowledge and put them through the same sort of training I went through when I was a design estimator.

What do you like to do outside of work?

Me and my partner love travelling so its been difficult with Covid-19 but we’ve spent most of our time planning trips for next year, we’ve done a couple of staycations over the past year but we’re hitting it hard this year 2, starting with Norway this month!

Who is your hero? And why?

They say you should never meet your hero’s so I wouldn’t really say I have one, I would like to say I try to be my own hero, set out my own beliefs and values and make sure I abide by them.
